I own and operate Yocona River Boykins. This is a full time Boykin Spaniel Kennel. While I do breed my Boykins, my focus is on Gundog and Companion Dog training. We train for upland and waterfowl and we train our companion dogs as obedient family companions that are capable of going anywhere with their owners. I have worked in a Veterinary Hospital here in Oxford. This experience has provided me with a wealth of knowledge that I fall back to on a regular basis as a breeder and a trainer. After leaving the Vet, I worked for Wildrose Kennels here in Oxford, the home of Drake and Deke, the official gundog mascots of Ducks Unlimited. While at Wildrose, I was both the assistant healthcare manager and a full time trainer. My wife of 17 years and our beautiful 12 year old daughter love the dogs and are a great help to me in the day to day operation of our kennels. I hunt all of my Boykins on upland and waterfowl. From ducks and quail here in south, to pheasants in South Dakota. I believe in the Boykin as a true versatile gundog, capable of hunting ducks in the morning-pheasants in the afternoon-and curling up in front of the fireplace that evening with the family.
